Athens has real airport infrastructure and a long runway, which makes it the obvious departure for Oconee and Clarke counties and the obvious arrival for a Saturday in Sanford Stadium.

The field has a runway of about 6,000 feet and a full private terminal. You drive to the private terminal, park, and walk to the airplane; there is no security line and no gate. Best for: Athens, Watkinsville, Bogart, Winterville, UGA game weekends.
