What it costs,and why.
Charter pricing has a reputation for being opaque. It does not need to be. Five things go into a quote — here they are, and how each one works on the Epic E1000 GX.
- 01
The hourly rate
Charter is priced by the hour the airplane flies, block to block. The Epic's rate is what makes the difference on the trips most people take: it is a fraction of a light jet's for a leg that arrives within minutes of it.
- 02
Positioning
If the airplane has to fly empty to reach you or to come home, those hours are part of the trip. Based at PDK, most of our trips start and end where the airplane lives, so for Atlanta clients this is usually zero. Anchor Card members at 50+ hours pay a reduced rate on any deadhead.
- 03
Federal excise tax
7.5% on domestic charter, plus a small per-segment fee, set by the IRS and the same for every operator in the country. International trips are taxed differently; we show it on the quote.
- 04
What is included
Crew, fuel, insurance, Starlink, a person on the phone, and a stocked cabin: complimentary alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, water and snacks on every flight. Catering beyond that is arranged on request on a cost-plus basis. Landing fees and overnight crew costs, where a trip needs them, are passed through at cost and shown on the quote before you agree to anything.
- 05
What we do not do
No membership fees to get a quote. No surge pricing on a Saturday. No 'from' price that turns into something else. The number we quote is the number you pay, and it is a firm price for the whole trip.
